This was Del Webb's first Sun City in Las Vegas. Construction ran from 1989 to 1999 and left 7,781 homes in the northeast part of Summerlin, with fairways and green belts running between the streets. If you want a 55+ home with golf a short cart ride away, this is a good place to start.
The association runs all three courses as Golf Summerlin. Billy Casper and Greg Nash designed the two full-length courses, Palm Valley and Highland Falls, and Eagle Crest is a shorter executive layout. Each has a driving range and practice green. Residents choose a golf membership or pay by the round, and none of it is in the monthly dues.
Off the course, residents use four recreation centers (Desert Vista, Pinnacle, Sun Shadows, and Mountain Shadows), each with a fitness center, plus pools, meeting rooms, and dozens of resident clubs. Most homes are single story, from small attached homes to larger houses on the course.
Age is the main thing to plan around on a golf home here. Every house is more than 25 years old, so roofs, windows, and air conditioning matter a lot to price.
