What is it like to live on Chimera Golf Club?
It feels like a resort course without the resort price. Tuscany is one of the few guard gated golf communities in Henderson where many homes still list under a million dollars, and the course is the backbone of the place, winding between streets of tile-roofed homes. The land was once a gravel pit. The course came first, in 2003, and the first homes followed in 2005.
Because Chimera is public, there is no club to join and no initiation fee. You book a tee time like anyone else, stop at the bar and grill, and walk home. The flip side is public play: the golfers behind your wall are not always your neighbors.
Tuscany changed hands a few times while it was being built. The first developer went through bankruptcy in 2009, his lenders took over, and Century Communities bought the project in 2014 and built many of the newer homes. So two homes on the same fairway can come from different builders and different years, which matters when you compare listings.
Inside the gate you also get a recreation center with a gym, a resort-style pool, a lap pool, and courts, plus parks and walking paths. Lake Las Vegas is about ten minutes east when you want water and more golf.
